An engineer in service of the ocean.
Having grown up in Florida, degradation of our natural environment strikes very close to home. Climate change, habitat loss, and the loss of biodiversity have always been key issues for me — and aiding in their mitigation is my chosen purpose, especially where the ocean is concerned.
I studied Ocean Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology and performed research in support of environmental remediation efforts. My career spans engineering, GIS, and geophysics — from land development to UXO and mine clearance to all manner of instrumentation — giving me the range to manage and execute projects large and small from many perspectives.
An avid photographer and AAUS-trained scientific diver, I have frequented the reefs and wrecks of the Keys for over a decade and personally witnessed the decline in abundance, biodiversity, and color. Today I work from Melbourne, Florida, supporting conservation efforts, artificial reef development and monitoring, and R&D for academic and commercial clients.
